Color. Brilliance.
Fire.

These describe different aspects of what you see. Color is the body appearance of a stone. Brilliance concerns the return of light. Fire refers to flashes of spectral color.

Cut, orientation, lighting and the individual crystal affect the viewing experience. Compare a stone in diffuse light and a smaller direct light source, and ask how its photographs were made.

A useful starting point.
